Spring Exhibition

Next week I will be a floating teacher at BTW for a high school blogging class! The things I get myself into : ) I was trying to prepare as much as possible by re-visiting the blog I created through edublogs last year in Cindy's class. We will use edublogs to help the students create a blog about their adventures in tech camp. Going thru this refresher class helped me learn a few new things - like posting a video. It also reminded that no matter how young the students are they can make videos too! Two of our students this past year were very advanced first graders and thought it would be a good idea for them to make an Animoto video to showcase their learning. All of first grade's work focused on life around the pond. So Kindell and Tyler searched for insects on the internet, all safe sites of course, and copied them into a file on the desktop and then arranged their work on animoto adding some text slides. They listened to a science cd I had that included music about insects and they selected the song they wanted and you can see their final project by clicking the link below!

Bitstrips Frustration leads to DoppelMe

I have made a Mrs. V bitstrip and everytime I try to fine tune I dislike it more and more! Maybe there is something I just haven't figured out! That frustration led to a google search and behold I found DoppelMe! There were a few more options and color choices, which I really liked! There were also more background choices and I found one that actually looks like a classroom! Summer Fun Begins

The school year is over and what a year its been - a really great one! I team taught this year and we had a great time with a lot of learning. My focus was on math, science and social studies and my partner teacher, Mrs. Debbie Link, taught language arts! Now that the school year is over it's time to focus on my own learning : ) First up - teaching a blogging class to high school students! Wish me luck!

Running Out of Time

I wish there was more time in a day! There is so much I want to do and not enough time to get it all done! You can see that from the last time I posted something here. Oh well, one day or semester at a time, right?
